Sis, are you throwing your pearls to pigs?

Sis, sip-on this:
Are you are anything like me?
You don’t give up easily?
You see the best in people and believe the good in all people?
Even if it costs you your very own pearls? This saddens me.

Even these well intended efforts of finding and exposing the good can rob us of our precious gifts if we are not vigilant and watchful.

Most of my life I have been able to see the good in people. The good that not everyone can see. The good behind the insecurity. The good behind fear, shame, guilt and unworthiness. I worked tirelessly to expose the good in people. In my quest to search for good, I got lost and buried in the hunt to find this so-called good.

As I searched for the Pearl, the gem, or the precious stone in each of us, desperately wanting to buff it and let it shine for others to see, it wasn’t always well received. After-all for a Pearl to be formed there is a P R O C E S S.

I was so focused in the hunt (for good) that I myself became lost, disgruntled, and forgot that God is God and I am not. I’ve gone on these “conquests” with my ex-husband and I have hunted for gems with many (many) women that have crossed my path.

What I didn’t realize, was that it was also robbing me of my time, energy and my very own precious pearls. It was and still is hard for me to “give-up” on people, but the beauty is they were in better hands... in the hands of God. And I realized, I wasn’t giving up, I was “giving in” to God, and laying my well intended quest to expose good to the hands of our Father.

The “giving-in” to God allowed me to preserve my very own gifts and use my gifts with those who can appreciate, those who have a teachable spirit, those who are receptive and those who have a heart with fertile soil. In the process, this allowed others to shine my very own pearls, cultivate my gifts and be able to radiate together.

My sisters, you have precious PEARLS and gifts, and others are waiting to be touched by them.

"Don't waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don't throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you."
Matthew 7:6 NLT

Your Sis,
Audrey Jo
